Aim of the group

It is over15 years since we started considering the frameworks for first and second cycle studies. This work package will look to the future and deal with all three cycles (bachelor, master and doctorate) as well as short cycle programmes and certification for adult learning. We expect this group especially to involve input from our third country partners even though the title includes the word "Europe". The title in fact reflects the discussions at the European Commission.

Period of Activity

March 2013 - September 2015

The work package has integrated the competences for all types of post-secondary chemical studies in order to meet the challenges of the European Modernisation Agenda for Higher Education. In this context, two documents have been produced. they are entitled 'A Quality Label for Short Cycle Higher Education in Chemical Sciences' and 'Validation of Intensive Study Programmes in Chemical Sciences'. These documents appear as two chapters in the book entitled 'Innovative Approaches to Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Education' - pages 35 - 71 and 72 - 91, respectively.

The work package has also produced guidelines for curricula combining chemistry and chemical engineering. These guidelines also appear as a chapter in the book entitled 'Innovative Approaches to Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Education', pages 92 - 128.
